Buddha Pooja and Blessings for School - 2019

Buddha pooja is conducted to offer obeisance to Buddhas including the present Goutama Buddha. This ancient devotional practice increases our affinity with infinite virtues of Buddhas and deepens and our commitment on the Path.

On completion of the Buddha pooja, Resident monks will also chant Seth pirith and bless the children for the up-coming school year. On conclusion of Seth pirith, you should encourage your children to get a pirith noola, a blessed string, from the resident monks. A pirith noola, or a Buddhist bracelet, it is a visual reminder that you’ve taken a vow to follow the five percepts and to follow the noble eightfold path. A pirith noola is also a reminder that you have received a blessing to be strong and to stay focused on good behavior.

Please bring your children for this pooja and encourage them to get a pirith noola.

The program is as follows

  • Arrival, networking - 5.00 PM
  • Commencement of Buddha pooja and Seth pirith- 5.30PM
  • Conclusion of events - 7.30PM

This pooja is sponsored by Dinesh and Ganga Uduwana. They cordially invite your presence at the pooja and to join your Dhamma friends for refreshments afterwards.
