Shrama Daana (Volunteering event)

In Sri Lanka and South Asian countries such as Cambodia, Thailand, devotees pay special attention to sustenance of the temple premises and the well-being of the resident monks during the Vassana period.

On Saturday, August 17th , we will focus on cleaning the vihara premises.

Join your friends and lend a helping hand with following activities.

• Carpet cleaning (we have made plans to rent 2 carpet cleaning machines. We need 4~6 volunteers)
• Pressure washing of exterior walls (There will be 2 pressure washers. We need 2~3 volunteers. Please come with pressure washers if you have any)
• Painting the kitchen area of the monk’s residence (we have already painted the interior of the residence)
• Planting flowers and maintaining the garden (this is a great activity for kids)
• Arranging loose items in the main hall.

Program is as follows

• Arrival at the premises - 9AM
• Work begins - 9.30AM
• Buddha pooja and Dana for monks - 11.30AM
• Potluck community lunch - 12.30PM
