Sangha Nayaka Felicitation Ceremony - 2019

Venerable Polwatte Pagnananda, the chief incumbent of SIBC Tukwila, has been appointed as the chief Sangha Nayaka for South America in recognition of his Dhamma service in Americas during the past 20 years. Devotees and members of SIBC are organizing a felicitation ceremony to recognize this achievement. We also want to celebrate Venerable Pagnananda’s birthday which falls on January 26th. We want to invoke blessings for good health and many more years of service.

The program of this event is as follows

• 9.45AM arrival and networking
• 10.00AM Aashirwadha pooja by Venerable Chadrasiri Maha Nayaka Thero (Chief Abbot of the Oregon Buddhist Vihara)
• 11.00AM Buddha pooja
• 11.30AM Cutting of birthday cake and offering Dana to monks
• 12.00PM Community lunch
• 1:00PM Community procession to felicitate Venerable Pagnanda with traditional drummers
• 1.30PM Felicitation ceremony commences
• 3.30PM close of ceremony and offering of tea and refreshments
