Katina Cheewara Pooja (Robe Donation Ceremony) - 2019

This is a past event. This event took place on October 20, 2019

Katina event is the culmination of Vassana programs - during Katina, devotees present the Katina Cheewara to a resident monk as a gesture of their gratitude. For the year 2019, we are conducting the Katina ceremony with the participation of 8 monks. We will conduct a Maha pirith session at SIBC temple on October 19th (Saturday) within a specially constructed Pirith Mandapa (Sacred space). This will be followed by the Katina Dana and the Perahera by children on October 20th (Sunday).

Please mark these dates in your calendar and tell your friends. You don’t want to miss this great ceremony conducted according to Sri Lankan cultural tradition.

We are conducting a fundraiser along with the Katina ceremony. The details can be found in the Fundraiser page.
