Poson Religious Event - 2022

This is a past event. This event took place on June 18, 2022

Poson poya is the most important full moon day for Sri Lankan Buddhists. The day marks the introduction of buddhism to Sri Lanka by Arhat Mahinda thero - the son of emperor Ashoka, in the third century BC. Buddhism has been followed ever since in Sri Lanka.

Sarana International Buddhist Center has organized a Sil program for children on Saturday, June 18th at the temple premises. This program is specially catered towards children, with a shorter Sil observance period and simplified Dhamma sermons. If there are adults that want to observe Sil with the Children, they are welcome to do so.

Please let us know your participation by filling the following form by June 12th, so that we can plan accordingly (You don’t have to register again if you have registered via the Dhamma school)
