Poson Religious Event - 2023
This is a past event. This event took place on June 04, 2023
Poson poya is the most important full moon day for Sri Lankan Buddhists. The day marks the introduction of buddhism to Sri Lanka by Arhat Mahinda thero - the son of emperor Ashoka, in the third century BC. Buddhism has been followed ever since in Sri Lanka.

We plan to do two programs, one specially catered towards children, with a shorter Sil observance period and simplified Dhamma sermons, and the other for adults with a traditional focus and timing.
