Katina Cheewara Pooja (Robe Donation Ceremony) - 2023
This is a past event. This event took place on October 28, 2023
Katina event is the culmination of Vassana programs - during Katina, devotees present the Katina Cheewara to a resident monk as a gesture of their gratitude. We are conducting the Katina event with a pirith chanting and a Katina Dana.
Katina is also the main fund-raising event for SIBC. We want to channel our efforts this year to pay-off the remainder of the loan we have taken to construct the new bathroom. Currently we have a deficit of $12,000 including capital and the interest. We kindly suggest a donation of $200 per family while we will gladly accept any amount higher or lower than this amount. If you are working for Microsoft, Boeing or T-mobile you can donate to the SIBC cultural fund whose funds are used for cultural events organized by SIBC including Katina event.
You can help by committing to donate a cheewara at the Katina event. Please sign-up to donate a Katina cheewara by adding your name using this form.
